Set your bookkeeping date and organize sub-portfolios

Choose your import start date, accounting tools and property assignments.

Decide the first date to include in your books and which properties belong together.

Review Accounting settings

Open Settings > Accounting. Chart of Accounts, vendor tracking and sub-portfolios have separate controls.

Rentari Accounting settings screen.
The available controls before changes are submitted.

Save the start date

Under Bookkeeping start date choose Edit, enter the date and Save. Imports skip older rows.

Organize sub-portfolios

Enable sub-portfolio, enter a name and entity type, then Add sub-portfolio. Use Assign properties on a non-default entry and Save the selections.

Check the available report scope

Use only the book or property filters actually offered by the report. A saved property assignment does not confirm that a report applied that scope.

Review supporting tools

Choose whether to enable vendor tracking and matching loan suggestions. Use Scan a receipt for uploads; check the separate receipt-email connection status before forwarding files.

Check the result

  • Reopening settings shows the saved date and property assignments.

FAQs

Does a sub-portfolio route payments to an LLC?

No. It organizes accounting records. Legal entities and payment destinations are separate.

Why is an older transaction absent?

Check the import date boundary and result. If you move the start date earlier, use a supported refresh or import and review duplicates before booking.
