Common questions about Rentari accounting
Understand imports, reporting, corrections and the boundary between books and payments.
On this page
Decide the first date to include in your books and which properties belong together.
Separate import from booking
A linked feed or statement import brings activity into review. Check type, account, property, amount and any proposed rule before booking it into your records.
Read report scope
Choose the report, dates and property or portfolio filters. Profit, operating performance, cash flow and balance-sheet views answer different questions and can show different totals.
Correct the original record
Use the entry’s offered edit, unbook or reversal flow for its state. Check the saved result and any related loan or asset record before posting a replacement.
Check the result
- The record’s import, booking, report scope and money-movement stages are distinguishable.
FAQs
Does accounting move money or pay bills?
Bookkeeping records do not themselves transfer money. Use the actual Payments or provider workflow and confirm its separate result.
Does Rentari use another platform’s accounting service?
Use Rentari’s own Accounting workspace and offered controls. Do not assume REI Hub subscriptions, bank providers or report behavior carry over.
Can I rely on a report for another country’s filing?
Review currency, address, supported bank connection and reporting requirements with your preparer. A generated report alone does not establish that it meets another jurisdiction’s requirements.
Does a matching suggestion automatically justify a booking?
Review its source, amount and proposed classification. A suggestion is a review aid, and a rule must be supported by the transaction type and saved conditions.
Do credit notes and loan principal count as rent income or operating expense?
Review the actual event and report basis. A credit, loan principal movement and collected rent have different records; do not classify all bank activity as income or expense.
