Choose an accounting transaction type
Classify the actual money movement before selecting its category and property.
On this page
Have the statement and supporting receipt. Identify the actual event before choosing a category.
Identify the event
Open an imported transaction or Add transaction and check the date, amount and source. Decide whether it is income, an expense, a purchase, debt activity or money moving between accounts.
Choose the correct type
Use Revenue for income, Expense for costs, Fixed asset purchase for an eligible capital asset, Transfer for movement between your accounts, and Card payment for a card repayment. Review owner contribution, distribution or refund choices for those actual events.
Review the full entry
Select the account, property or portfolio scope and supporting details. Match an existing Rentari payout instead of adding the same rent as new revenue, then save and inspect the result.
Check the result
- The saved entry shows the reviewed type, accounts, amount and rental or portfolio scope.
