Review depreciation and the fixed assets schedule

Review annual deductions and link existing history without duplicating a posted year.

Finish asset records and resolve prior-year balances before posting a new year.

Post the reviewed year

Choose Post reviewed year and inspect the result and asset histories. Investigate blocked years rather than entering another expense.

Link existing history

Use Link posted years for a deduction already booked. Select the asset and matching row, review the year and property, and complete the required typed confirmation.

Inspect the schedule

In Reports select Fixed assets schedule and check the year, basis, accumulated depreciation and remaining values. A general depreciation journal does not automatically update this schedule.

Check the result

  • Annual entries and the asset schedule reflect the reviewed year.

FAQs

Why is a year blocked?

Read its review note. Existing deductions, historical balances or incomplete information can require separate review.

Can I assign an uncertain old expense to an asset?

Resolve the source, year and property first. Link posted years requires a clear match; ask your bookkeeper to reconcile uncertain history.
