Track income and expenses
Review imported transactions, book them to the right category and rental, and check the resulting records.
On this page
Use a landlord or team account with access to the portfolio accounting workspace; follow any access message shown.
Have the statement or receipt for the transactions you plan to review. A bank-feed item may still need booking before it becomes a reporting record.
Open the transaction workspace
Open Accounting and choose Import feed. Select the account and Status you want to review, then use the description or date filters if needed.
Review an unbooked item
Choose Book on the relevant transaction. Check its amount, date, type, category and property before saving.
Check the saved record
Read the save result, then review Revenue, Expenses or Booked for the resulting entry.
Review the reporting view
Open Accounting insights or Reports and select the same period and property to review the recorded activity.
Set up a repeatable bookkeeping routine
Start with the correct portfolio and accounting access. Review Accounting settings, connect the intended bank-feed accounts and choose a consistent starting date. If you bring in earlier balances, use the opening-balance and journal workflow with supporting statements.
Review unbooked imports before creating manual entries. A suggested category or possible payout match needs your review; it is not proof that a transaction has been booked correctly. Compare the amount, description, property and underlying payment.
Book confirmed items, resolve duplicates and reconcile against the statement. Create narrowly scoped matching rules for genuinely recurring transactions. Finish by checking the same dates and property scope in reports; connecting a bank alone does not complete those steps.
Check the result
- A successfully booked item has a recorded status and category, and its accounting entry can be reviewed in the relevant tab.
- Report totals reflect their selected scope and available records; an imported row or suggested category alone is not confirmation of a completed booking.
FAQs
The bank transaction is visible. Why is it missing from a report?
Check whether it is still unbooked in Import feed. Then compare its property, date and transaction type with the report filters. Transfers and other non-income items should not be assumed to count as rental revenue.
Could recording a bank deposit count rent twice?
It can create an incorrect record if an existing Rentari payout is entered again as unrelated rent. The Book drawer can identify a matching platform deposit. Review that match and the underlying records before choosing the transaction type.
What should I review before trusting an automatic suggestion?
Compare its account, amount, date, category, rental and any existing payment match with the source record. Correct the suggestion before booking; review the saved entry afterward.
