Review co-signers in a lease and signing request
Keep the person’s lease role and assigned signature fields consistent.
On this page
Confirm the intended legal role and the person’s correct contact information before editing a draft.
Review the lease participants
Open People on the Lease in the draft agreement. Answer Yes to Is there a co-signer or guarantor? Enter the co-signer names and emails, one per line in matching order, then save the section.
Review the agreement
Check how the generated document describes that person’s obligations. An applicant label alone does not establish the agreement terms.
Review signing recipients
On the signer preparation page add or select the intended signer, confirm the email and assign the appropriate fields.
Send and track
Send the reviewed request and inspect each signer’s status. A contact record or invitation is not a completed signature.
Check the result
- The draft agreement and signing request identify the intended person and role.
FAQs
Does changing an applicant role amend a signed lease?
No. A signed agreement needs an appropriate document workflow. Review any required addendum or replacement with the parties.
Can one person sign on behalf of another adult?
Use the signing authority and process appropriate to the agreement. Do not assign another person’s signature field merely to complete the screen.
