Edit or remove an eligible rent charge

Review a charge’s balance and history before changing the amount or schedule.

Identify the correct lease, charge period and any linked payments. A paid charge may require a separate adjustment workflow.

Find the charge

Open Payments > Charges and select the relevant Sent charge. Check its lease, amount, remaining balance and payment details.

Charges workspace with filters above fictional rental charge records.
  1. Filter by status
  2. Choose the lease
Use the lease, category, status and period filters.

Open the offered action

Choose Edit when available and review the fields the record permits. A recurring schedule and an individual charge are different scopes.

Review removal carefully

Use Delete or the offered removal action only after reading its effect and restrictions. Do not remove a charge to hide a payment dispute or uncertain bank result.

Save and inspect

Read the result and reopen the charge list and lease record. Verify the intended period and any future schedule separately.

Check the result

  • The intended charge change is confirmed without assuming a payment was cancelled or refunded.

FAQs

Why is editing or deletion blocked?

Existing payments, protected history or schedule restrictions can prevent a direct change. Follow the record’s supported correction path.

Should I use a credit instead?

Use a lease credit for an agreed balance adjustment, and review how it applies. A credit is different from deleting history or returning cash.
