Help a tenant with autopay

Check lease readiness and direct the tenant to their own autopay controls.

Check the intended tenant and lease. A landlord recurring charge and a renter’s autopay instruction are different.

Check the lease and charges

Review the active lease, rent charge and tenant payment-access status. Resolve a missing charge or account-verification blocker first.

Charges workspace with filters above fictional rental charge records.
  1. Filter by status
  2. Choose the lease
Use the lease, category, status and period filters.

Direct the renter to Money

Ask the tenant to sign in and review their payment method and autopay options. They must review the authorization and saved autopay status in their own account.

Check actual payment activity

Review the payment status for each charge. An autopay setting does not guarantee funds are available or that a payment has settled.

Check the result

  • The renter knows where to manage autopay and the landlord checks payments separately.

FAQs

Can I enroll a tenant or change their bank account for them?

Direct the renter to their own account and authorization flow. Do not collect their bank credentials or sign-in code to manage autopay for them.

Will editing monthly rent update every existing payment?

Review the charge schedule and renter autopay details separately. Already processing or paid payments are not rewritten by a new rent setting.
