Review and update a tenant’s contact information

Correct the intended tenant record and keep portal identity separate from lease details.

Confirm the tenant’s name, rental and portal-access status. Have the corrected details from the tenant.

Open the profile

Choose Renters > Tenants and open the named tenant. Review the linked leases and portal-access status.

Rentari tenant list with fictional demo residents and their rentals.
Choose the correct tenant and rental.

Use the offered edit controls

Choose Edit for contact fields you can change. Review restrictions for an existing portal user; ask that user to update their own verified account when required.

Save and reopen

Save permitted changes, read the result and reopen the profile. Changing a phone or email draft is not proof the update was accepted.

Review pending requests separately

Check portal invitations, screening requests and e-sign recipients that used the old address. Do not assume editing a contact rewrites a request already sent.

Check the result

  • The permitted contact update is visible on the intended profile.

FAQs

Can I change the email on a signed document this way?

No. Signed documents and signature evidence retain their own history. Review any pending request through its signing workflow.

Why is a field locked?

It can belong to the tenant’s verified account or a protected workflow. Follow the field’s message or ask support about that record rather than creating a duplicate tenant.
