Set up autopay

Check whether autopay is available and review the schedule before turning it on.

Check whether Autopay is offered for this lease; individually billed charges can have different eligibility.

Review the displayed schedule, payment method, rent amount and processing fee before authorizing automatic payments.

Check whether autopay is offered

Open Money and find Autopay. Read whether it is On, Off, or unavailable for your lease.

Empty renter payment methods section with an Add payment method button.
The sample account has no saved bank accounts or cards.

Review the schedule and method

When Set up autopay is offered, review the displayed rent schedule, payment method, and processing fees. Complete bank verification if requested.

Add payment method dialog offering bank account or card and explaining that saving does not pay rent.
  1. Choose bank account
  2. Choose card
Saving a method does not make a payment.

Confirm and check the result

Confirm only after reviewing the authorization. Return to Autopay to check its status and use Payment history to follow each payment.

Check the result

  • A successful setup shows Autopay on; saving a bank account by itself does not enable it.
  • Each later payment has its own status to follow in Money, even while Autopay remains enabled.

FAQs

Can I choose a different day or automatically pay selected extra charges?

If Custom payments is offered, select supported monthly rent or recurring charges and choose from the available payment timing, then review and save a draft. Saving a draft does not authorize payments or change an active schedule. Activation is a separate step and depends on the rental's availability, a reviewed payment method and fees, and your consent. Current or past-due bills are paid separately. Standard autopay uses the supported lease schedule and method.

Autopay is on, but I received a payment problem notice. What should I check?

Open Money and read the payment status, method and any failure or verification message. Resolve the displayed cause before another attempt. An enabled authorization does not guarantee that every debit will succeed.
