Renew a lease or prepare for move-out

Choose the next tenancy workflow and keep its records separate from signing and settlement.

Review the existing term, agreement, tenants, charges and applicable notice requirements before changing the tenancy record.

Review the lease summary

Open Lease Profiles and select the lease. Check its actual end date and end behavior; Ending soon is a reminder, not a notice sent to the tenant.

Find a lease before opening its details.

Choose the next workflow

Use Renew my lease with the same tenants or Let my lease end & move out my tenants when offered. Follow the resulting checklist and communicate the intended terms separately.

Prepare a renewal

Use the renewal workflow to review the new term, rental and participants. Prepare and send the appropriate agreement; a draft profile is not a signed renewal.

Prepare move-out records

Confirm the move-out date, complete the condition report and review deposit settlement. Record expenses and any communication outcomes separately.

End the record when appropriate

In Lease Settings open How do I delete or end this lease? Review End lease and its confirmation. Check Past leases afterward.

Check the result

  • The lease’s next workflow and recorded status match the action you completed.

FAQs

Should I delete a lease that has real history?

Review the deletion restrictions and consider the supported end workflow. Preserve records needed for payments, documents and settlement.

Does checking a checklist item do the underlying action?

No. Check the actual agreement, report, payment or notice result separately. A tick is progress tracking.
