Rentari refund policy

Rentari refund policy

Use the original receipt and account history to identify a charge before requesting help. A subscription, screening purchase, rent payment and security deposit have different records and responsible parties.

Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. Rentari does not provide prorated subscription refunds for partial billing periods. See the Terms of Service for the terms that govern your purchase.

Support can help identify a Rentari charge, review its recorded status and explain the applicable account information. Contacting support or cancelling a subscription does not itself approve or create a refund.

Subscription and renewal charges

You can cancel through Billing or contact support. Cancellation stops future renewals and generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until then.

A cancellation does not reverse an already paid renewal. Review the current plan, renewal date and receipt. Rentari does not provide prorated refunds for an unused portion of a paid period, except where required by law.

See Change or cancel your subscription for the account controls and the confirmation to check.

Application and screening fees

A screening or application purchase does not guarantee approval or selection for a rental. The landlord or property manager makes the rental decision.

Keep the original receipt and request reference. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable under the Terms, except where required by law. Do not order another report to correct an unresolved payment, identity check or disputed report entry.

Contact the leasing team about the property or application decision. For a charge or request-status question, contact support with the receipt and the blocked step. See Errors in a screening report for the appropriate correction channel.

Rent, security deposits and landlord-created charges

For rent, a security deposit or another amount collected for your tenancy, ask your landlord or property manager to review the original charge and payment. A platform subscription cancellation does not return these funds or change the lease balance.

  • Identify the full property address, unit and tenancy.
  • Provide the original charge, payment date, amount and receipt reference.
  • Keep the agreed return and its actual payment record.

Landlords can use Return a security deposit to review an eligible original online refund or record a manual return after the tenant has actually been paid.

Payment and processing fees

Review the in-app payment and billing screens for the fee charged to your particular transaction. Processing fees, payout timing and the allocation of fees are described there and may change.

For a reversed rent payment, the Terms explain recovery of the original funds and the separate reversal fee. Rentari does not keep its own processing fee on a reversed payment. A reversal does not remove the tenant's underlying rent obligation.

A bank-imposed overdraft or insufficient-funds fee belongs to the bank's records. Contact that financial institution about its charge. See Payment disputes and related bank debits for the records to review.

Have questions about a charge?

Contact Rentari support with your account email, receipt reference, charge date, amount and a short explanation. Do not include a full card number, bank account number, password or sign-in code.

Support can help you:

  • Identify a platform charge and its receipt.
  • Review subscription and renewal details.
  • Locate the recorded payment, credit or refund status.
  • Find the correct workflow for a charge, application or screening issue.
  • Understand how to stop a future subscription renewal.

If you do not recognize a charge or suspect unauthorized access, report that concern clearly. Keep any confirmed refund reference and check the original payment method for the actual return. A pending review or processing status does not mean funds have arrived.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I request a refund for fees already paid?

The Terms say fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. Support can help identify the charge and applicable account information; a support message does not itself approve a refund.

I cancelled after renewal. Does that refund the current period?

Cancellation stops future renewals and generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. It does not reverse an already paid renewal or create a prorated refund for the current period, except where required by law.

What if I did not use my subscription?

The non-refundable and no-proration terms apply to the paid period. Review the renewal and cancellation confirmation in Billing; access generally continues until the current period ends.

Does paying a screening fee guarantee I will get the rental?

No. The landlord or property manager makes the rental decision. Keep the receipt and request reference, and use the applicable purchase terms for any charge question.

Who should return rent or my security deposit?

Ask your landlord or property manager to review the tenancy charge and original payment. These funds are separate from a Rentari subscription or screening purchase.

Does a manual security deposit return move money?

A manual settlement records an outside return. The landlord must actually pay the tenant separately before recording its method, reference and date. An eligible original online refund has its own recorded processing status.

Does a reversed payment keep its original processing fee?

The Terms say Rentari does not keep its own processing fee on a reversed payment. A separate reversal fee and recovery of the original received funds can apply; review the transaction and the current Terms.

What should I send about an unfamiliar charge?

Send the account email, charge date, amount and receipt or payment reference through Contact support. State if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not send full payment credentials, passwords or verification codes.
