Correct a recipient on an e-sign request
Review request status before changing who receives a document.
On this page
Identify the exact document and request and whether any signer has already signed. Have the corrected name and email from the intended person.
Open the existing request
Go to Docs & E-Sign > E-Sign and inspect the document and each signer’s recorded status.
Correct a draft before sending
If still preparing the request, correct the signer fields and review the selected recipients and signature assignments before sending.
Handle an already sent request
Read its available actions and restrictions. Use the supported stop or void workflow only after reviewing the effect, then prepare a corrected request if appropriate. Contact support when the request cannot be corrected safely.
Verify the replacement
Inspect the corrected document, recipient and send outcome. Keep the original request history and check that you are following the intended current request.
Check the result
- The intended request has the correct recipient and a separately confirmed send result.
FAQs
Can I change the identity on a completed signature?
No. Do not rewrite signed evidence. Ask about the appropriate corrected agreement or new request for the situation.
Does resending fix an incorrect email?
Only if the request actually uses the corrected recipient. Check its recorded address before using resend.
