Send a generated lease for signature

Review the generated document, selected signers and signing order before sending.

Before you start

  • Generate and review the intended agreement first. Confirm each signer name and email, including your own signing order.

Open the generated agreement

Choose the lease in the agreement builder. Generate it if it is not ready, then use Send for e-signature to open Who needs to sign the document?

Check the document and signers

Open Preview and read the agreement. Review Which tenants are signing? and every selected email address. Use Add another signer only for a person who should sign this document.

Review the message and send

Complete Message to your signers and choose when you will sign. If you select Now, before it goes out, review the document before typing your name. Choose Send for signature and follow any payment or error prompt shown.

Track the request

Open Docs & E-Sign, then E-Sign, to check the request and each signer status. Complete your own signing step when it is available.

Check the result

  • Docs & E-Sign shows the signature request and each signer status. Waiting on signers is different from Completed; review the final document when the request is complete.

FAQs

Why can I not select a tenant as a signer?

A row marked No email on file is disabled. Correct the tenant contact details or add the intended signer with the correct email before preparing the request.

The send step stopped at payment or an error. Was the request sent?

Open Docs & E-Sign and check the existing request before retrying. A payment prompt, draft or interrupted connection does not confirm delivery.

Can I send a file I uploaded instead?

Use the uploaded-document e-sign workflow from Documents. Its signature fields must be prepared for that file; the generated-lease signer page is a different workflow.
