Understand rent reminders and payment receipts
Check the charge behind a reminder and distinguish it from payment confirmation.
On this page
Identify the lease, charge period and recipient. Check whether money was received outside Rentari.
Review the charge
Open Payments > Charges and inspect its amount, balance and status before sending a reminder.
- Filter by status
- Choose the lease
Use the offered reminder
Choose Send reminder when available. Review the target and message if presented, then read the sending result. Exact wording depends on the current charge and channel.
Handle an outside payment
If money was already received, record the actual outside payment against the intended charges. Do not mark an unreceived payment paid merely to stop messages.
Distinguish receipts from reminders
Review the actual payment record and available receipt. A reminder is a request about an outstanding charge, not proof that a payment failed or succeeded.
Investigate unexpected messages
Check unpaid or recurring charges, the linked tenant and saved notification preferences. Contact support about a specific automatic reminder, recipient and time.
Check the result
- The message can be traced to its actual charge or payment record.
FAQs
Can my notification preferences change the tenant reminder schedule?
No. Your own email preferences and automated tenant messages are separate. Use the current reminder configuration guidance for the requested schedule.
Why might a moved-out tenant still receive a reminder?
Review the past lease’s outstanding and recurring charges. Ending a tenancy record does not automatically establish that every balance is settled.
