Require, upload and review renters insurance

Collect policy proof and record a document-based approval or correction request.

Review the lease’s insurance requirement and have the declaration page. A saved requirement does not purchase coverage.

Review the lease requirement

In Lease Settings inspect Renters Insurance and save the intended requirement. Confirm that the requirement matches the agreement.

Request or upload proof

Open the tenant profile’s Insurance options. Use Request proof to send a reviewed note, or Upload Policy to provide a declaration page on the tenant’s behalf.

Save the policy for review

Enter the policy details and dates. Upload a PDF, JPG, PNG or WebP up to 25 MB; convert HEIC first. Choose Save policy for review.

Inspect the document

Choose Review policy and history. Verify the named insured, address, dates and coverage against the lease and source document.

Record the decision

Use Approve policy after verifying it, or Request correction with a clear reason the tenant can see. Read the result and reload the record after an uncertain save.

Check the result

  • The policy history shows the reviewed document version and recorded decision.

FAQs

Does Uploaded mean approved or verified by an insurer?

No. It records receipt of proof. Review the document and the policy’s actual approval state; uploading does not independently confirm insurer validity.

What if the policy expired or changed?

Request updated proof, review the new version and record a new decision. Do not rely only on the presence of an old attachment.

Does a scanned or uploaded policy guarantee active coverage?

No. Review the policy document, dates, insured rental and any recorded review issues, and ask the insurer about current coverage. Upload success, an AI summary and an active insurance contract are different evidence.
