Customize rental application questions
Review background questions and save the custom questions shown to applicants.

Check the requirements for every affected rental. Application settings apply across the applications you receive.
Review the background section
Open Settings > Application. Read each question and its note, then choose Ask or Don’t Ask as appropriate. Complete the displayed acknowledgement when required.
Write your custom questions
Under Custom Application Questions enter clear, relevant questions within the displayed limit. Use Add Question for another field.
Save changes
Choose Save questions and read the result. Removing text from a field only changes the draft until you save.
Preview the application
Choose Preview application to inspect the form. Check the saved questions before sending a new application invitation.
Check the result
- The saved questions appear in the application preview.

Can I rewrite every standard question or the layout?
Use the controls offered on this page. It provides background-question choices and custom questions, not a general form-layout editor.
Does an answer automatically reject an applicant?
No. Background answers do not create an automatic decision. Review the application and the applicable criteria separately.
