Review late-fee settings

Review the grace period, initial fee, supported daily fees, and limits for a lease.

Review the selected lease terms and any existing monthly Rent charge before creating another billing schedule.

Have the intended grace period, initial fee and any permitted daily-fee or total-limit settings ready. Use the options actually enabled for this rental.

Find the late-fee controls

When setting up a monthly Rent charge, choose the Lease profile, enter the rent amount and schedule, and find Would you like to set late fees? Select Yes to review the available settings.

Rentari Create charge screen.
Charge setup before a lease is selected; late-fee controls depend on the selected rental.

Choose the grace period and initial fee

Set the Grace period. Under One-time initial fee, choose Yes or No. When enabled, choose Flat, % of rent, or % of unpaid and enter the amount.

Review daily fees when offered

In Daily late fees, use the Yes or No controls when available. If enabled, enter the Daily amount and choose Starting. The current form offers daily fees for supported Texas rentals; other rentals show an availability message.

Review limits and the saved result

Under Would you like to set a late fee limit?, choose whether to set a total limit and enter the dollar amount or percentage of rent. Review the readback and the full charge details before selecting Create or Create & continue. Read any validation message and check the resulting charge setup.

Check the result

  • The saved charge setup shows the selected lease and late-fee settings after validation succeeds.
  • An assessed fee is a separate charge to review later; saving the settings does not prove a fee was charged or paid.

FAQs

Why are Daily late fees or a maximum-days setting unavailable?

Daily-fee controls currently depend on supported Texas rental information. When daily fees are offered, the maximum-days control is available to limit the count of non-void daily assessments tied to the rent bill. Check the actual enabled options and availability message. This count is separate from the combined dollar limit over the lease lifetime.

Can I use Create just to change an existing policy?

Create also submits the charge details on this form. Check the lease and its existing charges first. Review the full amount, schedule and policy readback so you do not create an unintended monthly charge while investigating a fee setting.
